Hard to believe for 8 years FGCM has been celebrating the people and places of the golf lifestyle in Florida. I’ll have to say I’m so pleased to have shared these years with so many people I love. I’m equally as glad to have shared them with people I have never met, but never the less people who have made an impact on our readers. We know them from their stories, their pictures, or the message in which we buy what we need to play, travel, and live the golf lifestyle.
We’ve watched so many young players grow up in our magazine. For instance we were the first magazine (thanks to Rick Harris) to do a feature on Brittney Lincicome and just look at her now. My personal favorite is all the philanthropic folks that we’ve covered for their work in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in charity tournaments all over the state.
I truly adore the staff and contributing writers. “They’re the ones that make me proud, they’re still the ones I want to sing about, we’re still havin’ fun, and they’re still the ones”. Oh, I’m sorry, I was reminded of the song when our own local celebrity Larry Hoppin from the group Orleans who sang it at the Robert
Gamez Celebrity Event. Robert himself even ‘got up to get down’ a little.
Speaking of the one, some of you still haven’t found this yet. Men and women who play golf either want their mate far removed from their favorite hobby or they want to share it with the one they love. I personally think there is nothing more romantic than enjoying a sunset on the course with my squeeze.
