WEST PARTNERS WINS FLORIDA LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECTURE AWARD
JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Basham & Lucas Design
Group recently received an Award of Merit from the
Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape
Architects (FLASLA).
The Jacksonville design firm and development
company East West Partners were honored in the
Florida Chapter ASLA 2008 Design Awards with an
Award of Merit in the residential category for Eagle
Landing, a Clay County community golf course development.
The award was announced at the FLASLA
annual conference and awards gala at the Times-
Union Center for the Performing Arts in Jacksonville
on Aug. 2, 2008.
“We are honored to receive this recognition for
our design work at Eagle Landing,” Basham & Lucas
Design Group Vice President Carol Dodd said. “Eagle
Landing is a premier development by East West
Partners and demonstrates that beautiful design
can blend environmental and artistic principles to
provide function and identity for the community and
its residents.”
The Jacksonville design firm worked with East
West Partners to provide the land planning, architecture,
amenities and signage design for Eagle
Landing, which includes an 18-hole Clyde Johnston
championship golf course, small neighborhoods and
a Village Green featuring a lake and docks with canoes
and kayaks. The community’s amenities also
include a swim park, tennis center with 12 Har-Tru
courts, fitness center, gymnasium with indoor track,
miniature golf, amphitheater with movie screen,
hiking and biking trails, parks and playgrounds. In
addition to Eagle Landing, Basham & Lucas Design
Group is working with East West Partners on its Rolling
Hills community in Clay County and has completed
various other projects in Virginia.
Basham & Lucas Design Group was among 21
recipients of the 2008 Chapter Design Awards. This
year the Florida Chapter of the ASLA received 62
award submittals from professionals and students
around the state.

Named 2008 Boby Goodman Scholarship

PARKLAND -The
South Florida PGA
proudly announces
its 2008 Bobby
Goodman Scholarship
recipient: Brittini
Galvin of Palm
Beach Gardens, FL.
This $2,500 grant is
given annually to a
high school senior
or college entrant
in his/her freshman
or sophomore
classes of undergraduate studies whose parents or
grandparents either work in or are retired from the
golf industry.
This scholarship is named after Bobby Goodman,
a man well known to the South Florida PGA record
books. He is recognized for his numerous contributions
to the game of golf at all levels. The Bobby
Goodman Scholarship Fund was created in 1988 by
the South Florida PGA Senior Committee in tribute to
the late Bobby Goodman.
Brittini Galvin is honored to accept this award
this year. She is the daughter, Thomas and Deborah
Galvin. Thomas is a longtime PGA Member and Employee
of the PGA of America.
Galvin is currently preparing to enter her sophomore
year of studies at Florida Atlantic University.
She maintains a GPA of 3.97, and has been named
to the Dean’s list her first two semesters as well
as achieving membership in the National Society
of Collegiate Scholars. She is looking to obtain a
bachelor’s of science in Business Finance.
Brittini attended William T. Dwyer high school in
Palm Beach Gardens, and while there she received
countless academic awards including: Valedictorian,
National Merit, National Achievement and National
Honor Society to name a few. After high school
graduation Brittini ventured on a one-year sabbatical
to pursue volunteer activities in bible training.
Currently, while not studying or taking classes,
Brittini works for Irene Marie Agency in Miami Beach,
