Lee Westwood celebrated his 36th birthday at the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea.

Ryder Cup star Westwood had a 73 and was levelpar 144; after which he was presented his cake by tournament sponsors Ballantine’s.

Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen overcame strong winds and a missing ball mystery to grab the second round lead at the €2.1 million Ballantine’s Championship. The Dutchman produced a masterly three-under-par 69 in difficult conditions at Pinx Golf Club on the holiday island of Jeju’.

Days and nights at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge during Masters Week offer a long list of activities and events. Highlights from 2009 included a once in a lifetime “Masters of Arts Dinner.” Seventy lucky individuals took pleasure in an intimate evening with celebrity guests golf club designer Scotty Cameron, wine artist Thomas Arvid and Far Niente Winery Vice President Larry Maguire, and a gourmet dinner. Mr. Maguire dug deep into the Far Niente cellars to provide the distinguished wines that complemented the occasion. A golf clinic with Charlie King, “Stars & Cigars” evenings by the Lodge campfire and a Fond Farewell Cocktail Party hosted by Absolut Vodka were also available for guests’ enjoyment.

The final round of the Masters each year is scheduled the second Sunday in April. Tournament dates for next year are April 5–11, 2010.
