2008 LOO CUP – June 8-12
The 10th anniversary of the LOO CUP will be played this year Trevose Golf
and Country Club in Southwest England. This annual event brings 24 golfers from
the USA over the pond to compete in Ryder Cup fashion with the Brits who have
won this event a brilliant 11.1% of the time. In an effort to try and regain the club
they have added some 50 bunkers to the course – hoping this will stop the Americans.
John Ufheil, this year’s American captain said, “ The Budweiser Bunker Busters
have been practicing regularly and have no intention of relinquishing the
Cup. With only weeks to go we will be fine tuning our game play and beefing
up our livers….the end result may be punishing for the Europeans. “ ( What the
Captain meant to say was the US team will win the cup for the 9th time although
it is up for grabs who wins the “Pub Crawls” following the daily competition. |
