TAYLORMADE TP GOLF BALLS
TaylorMade has made a powerful reentry into
the golf ball market by introducing the TP Red
and TP Black models. They compliment the
company’s line of Tour Preferred clubs. The
goal was to design a faster and longer golf
ball that would appeal to both the Tour pro
and the amateur player alike. After three and
a half years they feel the goal has been accomplished. |

|
The two balls have their own specific characteristics.
The TP Red has a larger core size
that gives the ball a slightly higher spin rate
and lower launch angle off the driver. The thinner
mantle depth promotes a lower, tour-like
launch angle off the irons and the combination
provides a slightly softer impact response.
The smaller core size in the TP Black provides
longer carry off the driver and irons and
the combination has a slightly firmer sound
and feel than the TP Red. www.tmag.com.
PGA And LPGA Players To Wear
Pink Spikes On Mother’s Day
Weekend
| Marlborough, MA– CHAMP Spikes, the
number one brand on tour, today introduced its
inaugural Mother’s Day Pink-On-The-Links™
program designed to raise funds and awareness
for breast cancer research. Coinciding with both PGA and LPGA Tour events to be
played on Mother’s Day, CHAMP will make a
donation in the player’s behalf to the Breast
Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Total
funds contributed to the BCRF will be based
on the number of total participants wearing
the commemorative pink spikes at both The
Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass (Ponte
Vedra Beach, Florida) and the Michelob
ULTRA Open at Kingsmill (Williamsburg, VA). |
 |
Several leading footwear manufacturers and CHAMP partners who have already committed to participate in the Mother’s Day
Pink-On-The-Links spike campaign including Nike, ECCO, and Hi-Tec. These companies represent many of the world’s finest
golfers and as the most trusted spike on all tours, CHAMP anticipates a vast majority of players that wear their spikes on a
weekly basis will participate, helping make this grassroots awareness effort a success.

ORLANDO, FL– The Villas of Grand Cypress
Golf Resort has begun a six-month restoration/
enhancement project on its South Course,

the South Course,” said Director of Golf Maintenance/ Superintendent Tom Alex. |
Play will resume on the South Course in October.
The project includes restoring greens
and tee boxes to their original dimensions,
improving drainage under bunkers, installing
irrigation and building new retaining walls.
Fairways, rough and tees will be replanted
