CHAMP SPIKES TAKES PINKON THE LINKS
GLOBAL IN 2008
CHAMP Spikes today announced plans to expand
its highly successful Pink on the Links™ program for
2008 by adding an eBay charity auction and increasing
player participation with the addition of international
and national Tours. CHAMP created Pink on the Links
in 2007 as a way to raise funds for breast cancer research.
CHAMP donated money to the Breast Cancer
Research Foundation (BCRF) on behalf of PGA and
LPGA Tour players that wore CHAMP’s commemorative
pink and white spikes during Mother’s Day
weekend tournaments, The PLAYERS Championship
at TPC Sawgrass and the Michelob Ultra Classic at
Kingsmill. |
The program was so successful in its inaugural
year that CHAMP expanded the 2008 program to have
a greater impact. Following the Mother’s Day tournaments,
CHAMP and eBay will auction off autographed
golf memorabilia for collectors of all ages including
tournament worn shoes by top PGA and LPGA golfers.
Memorabilia will be exclusive to Pink on the Links and
the auction will feature items from all of the professional
tournaments held during Mother’s Day weekend.
All proceeds will benefit the BCRF. The auction will
start immediately after the tournaments on May 11th
and run through May 21st. A link to the site can be
found at www.champspikes.com or directly at stores.

BINKS FOREST CLUB ONE OF FIVE FINALISTS
Wellington, FL - The Binks Forest Golf Club was picked
as one the five finalists in Golf Inc’s Renovation of
the Year’ competition and will be honored at the Doral
Resort
April 21. The Johnny Miller and Gene Bates 1990 design,
which was one of the top 75 Public Golf Courses
in the USA, has just reopened in November 2007 after 5
years of being closed. Architect Bates, who is based in
Florida, modernized the features and playability of the
7,150 yard layout, while preserving its original integrity.
Aquila Property Company, a South Florida based real
estate investment firm acquired the club and plans to
revamp the 30,000 square foot clubhouse and build an
exclusive 90 unit residential golf course community.
Jordan Paul, CEO of Aquila, said “We are thrilled that
Binks Forest has received such national recognition so
quickly after its debut.”
In its first season the unique design of pine tree
lined fairways, heavily forested terrain and lush Bermuda
grass, reminiscent of Pinehurst, hosted the PGA
Tour Team Championship. Under the watchful eye and
management team of Kemper Sports, a Northbrook,
Illinois company that operates such highly acclaimed
properties as Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Binks Forest
is sure to take its rightful place as the place to play in
Palm Beach County. For more information on Binks

Dales extensive experience in teaching includes

to be the best player they can be, but also to get them
ready for college and life after it”
