Rick Rhoden Rocks!
A baseball legend, Rick Rhoden
pitched 16 seasons in the major
leagues, winning 151 games while
playing for the National League Champion
LA Dodgers, as well as the Pirates, Yankees
and Astros. Twice named to the “All Stars”,
he was one of the best hitting pitchers of
his era, winning 3 consecutive Silver Slugger
Awards as the best hitting pitcher in
baseball. He was the only pitcher to ever
start a game as a designated hitter, batting
over .300 three times!
After 16 seasons pitching major league
baseball, this legendary player “retired”
from the game only to hone his skills and
become an accomplished golfer.
In the 2002 PGA Senior Tour School
finals, Rhoden finished with a 5 under par
and went on to capture two first place finishes
that same year (The Stan Humphries
Celebrity Classic presented by Toyota and
the Sun Microsystems John Elway Celebrity
Classic).
Honored as an all-time leading money
winner playing on golf’s Celebrity Players
Tours, he also boasts the most tournament
wins capturing over 40 celebrity titles,
including five at the Lake Tahoe Celebrity
Golf Tournament. Seeking his record sixth
title, he fired off the best opening round at
the Celebrity Golf Classic on the shores of
Lake Tahoe, continuing his amazing feat of
winning this tournament every odd year
over a period of eight years or so.
With his dominating style and ball striking
ability, Rick earns a comfortable living,
having amassed millions in golf earnings
since wining his first major tournament at
Lake Tahoe in 1991.
When not on the greens, Rick enjoys
spending time with wife, Liz, at their home
in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. |
